Abstract:

In the last few decades, Random Matrix Theory (RMT) has expanded very quickly and found applications in many areas such as heavy-nuclei, condensed matter physics, number theory, wireless communications, and high dimensional statistics, just to mention a few. We consider n complex random variables that form determinantal point processes. These include eigenvalues from many well-known random matrices such as Ginibre matrix, spherical matrix, truncation of Haar unitary matrix, and their products. The empirical distribution based on the eigenvalues of a matrix is called the empirical spectral distribution of the matrix. In this talk, we introduce some recent development on the limiting empirical spectral distributions for the random matrices that follow the determinantal point processes.   We also introduce some fundamental tools that can be applied to determinantal point processes.
